Dental Crowns in Halifax
Dental crowns are tooth-shaped caps that are fitted on the top of your natural teeth. If you have any damage to your teeth or experienced dental decay, we recommend discussing treatment with a dental crown to restore the look and function of your teeth.
Am I a Candidate for a Dental Crown?
Dental crowns are commonly used to restore decayed, broken, or worn-down teeth. They are typically used for the following:
- To protect a weakened tooth
- To support a cracked tooth
- To hold a dental bridge in place
- To cover a root canal-treated tooth
- For dental implants
While fillings, inlays, and onlays are typically used to repair smaller sections of the teeth, crowns are more suitable when a greater portion of the tooth is damaged.
What Are Dental Crowns Made From?
Dental crowns can be made from metal, composite resin, porcelain, and ceramic. While composite crowns can be made in the dental clinic, metal, porcelain, and ceramic crowns must be fabricated in the dental lab.
